Charlie to 'clear his name'??

Charlie Gordon is apparently due to give a statement on his political future. I`ve already given my backing to him becoming High Commisioner for Jersey. However recent speculation from the Tartan Hero blog is that Chick will just resign the Labour whip at Holyrood until he tries to ‘clear his name’.

I`ll be curious as to how he could clear his name given he has publicly confessed to breaking the law.

If Chick’s bold action is to just give up the whip it’s more than a wee bit pathetic. As though by this action the Scottish Public will forget that the Labour party has been breaking electoral law left, right and centre. I really rather doubt it.

An ‘expert’ has been wheeled out today to say that, even though Wendy Alexander has publicly accepted both responsibility and liability for receiving ILLEGAL donations, she might not be responsible. As
Calum Cashley correctly observes the expert, Mr Navraj Ghaleigh, just so happens to be a Labour party member and recent candidate no less. Large pinch of salt to be taken with that one.

Tomorrow brings FMQs which will make for uncomfortable viewing as Alexander wriggles in her seat trying to look nonchalant. Annabel Goldie has been keen to go on justice issues during FMQs in recent months…perhaps tomorrow she will focus on those who have broken electoral law.
