Putting up lamppost posters can be a competitive and odd businesses. As parties jostle to see who can get theirs the highest. But as wizened political activists will tell you - lamppost can`t vote.

Ewan Aitken has bemoaned lamppost posters and said that he wouldn`t be averse to doing away with them. If only he'd been in some kind of position of authority on Edinburgh Council to take that decision in the past few years...

Lamppost posters have still gone up in Edinburgh for this election and as such there was one SNP activist who was determined that this time his would be the highest lamppost poster in the city. Below is a picture of his achievement - and no, the picture hasn`t been altered.
